Good news: I finally received my Dell Vostro laptop with i7/6GB and couldn't be happier. So, here is my setup. I have a 200G secured virtual drive using TrueCrypt which I use for all my virtual machines. I was using Virtual PC 2007 SP2 and my main development image was originally created in that environment.
I am happy to report that I had no trouble using this under my current environment (Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit + Windows Virtual Machines for 7).... except, when I went to install the integration components.
First, it made me kill a bunch of processes running on the VM including the explorer process (this is when I clued in that something was wrong), and then the installation would fail with an amazingly informative message, "setup was interrupted before virtual machine integration ...".
... so here's the deal: turns out that I simply had to first un-install the virtual machine additions that I had installed in the Virtual PC 2007 days and then the integration components installed without a hitch!
All's well that ends well :-)

How exiting is this? Silverlight 5 will include, among other niceties, taking full advantage of the hardware, using GPU accelerated HD video decoding and the ability to control this rich media using a remote!!!! Now we're talking :-)
Additionally the startup is going to be much faster and it will be able to take advantage of the hardware acceleration capabilities of IE9.
The only drawback -- won't be RTM until mid 2011
You can get the goods over at Scott Guthrie's: http://bit.ly/eJdaCW
